Lane Kiffin, the head coach of Ole Miss, delivered a message of responsibility after his recent weight reduction.
Lane Kiffin, the head coach of Ole Miss, finally looked in the mirror and didn’t like what he saw.
He made the decision to make some adjustments, beginning with a 30-pound weight loss over the offseason. It’s all part of Kiffin’s effort to hold himself and his players responsible in the tough SEC. “I saw a photo of myself before the bowl game last year and told the guys I looked like an anaconda that had eaten a deer and the buck got caught in its neck,” Kiffin told ESPN. “Here I am in January telling my offensive linemen and other people that they needed to eat better, lose weight, and be in better condition, and I looked like a whale,” Kiffin said, adding that he challenged his assistant coaches to a weight-loss battle to illustrate his point.
Kiffin also said that his whole staff, as well as his players, had all been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
