PJ WASHINGTON OF THE NBA REACTS TO RUMORS ABOUT BRITTANY RENNER… ‘Stop The Cap,’ he says.
“Stop the cap,” says Charlotte Hornets star PJ Washington, in response to wild reports about his divorce with Brittany Renner and reported $200k child support payments.
Here’s a short rundown for those who haven’t been following the drama:
Renner and Washington, the No. 12 selection in the 2019 Draft,
initially made news in 2019 when the hooper seemed to shoot his shot at the Instagram model after she watched one of his games at Kentucky.
The pair married in 2020… and Washington announced in May 2021 that they had a baby boy together.
But, only a few months later, things seemed to turn sour, with Washington tweeting — and then deleting — a mysterious remark about someone “faking it all along.”
Fast forward to this week, when an unverified rumor went widespread on social media stating that Washington will be required to pay $200k per month in child support payments as a result of the split.
Washington is still on his rookie contract, which means he’s made $7.8 million in his first two seasons and is set to earn about $14 million over the next two.
The Twitter trolls had a field day with the irresponsible title… making jokes and sending condolences to Washington’s bank account before anybody could really confirm or refute the child support allegations.
On Wednesday, though, Washington seemed to finally address all of the discussion, tweeting “Stop the cap,” which, for all, you old heads, means “Stop Lying.”
Brittany has yet to make an official statement on the subject, but perhaps that will change soon for the benefit of everyone.
