Fans of the singer believe her highly awaited fourth studio album will be published before the end of the year, according to a sequence of events on social media.
According to Billboard, the excitement started when Canadian radio presenter Mauler from The Morning Hot Tub and Stingray Hit Summary Countdown tweeted, “New Adele.
This week,” which was quickly followed by a list of Adele’s chart data from the Billboard Charts account on the same day.
Then, according to Rolling Stone, fans saw at least two billboards and building projections with the number “30” yesterday.
Since all of Adele’s album names have been numbers, the single number was enough of a tease for fans,
but Adele also suggested “30” as a potential album title in her 31st birthday post in 2019. She said on Instagram, “30 will be a drum n bass album to spite you.”
Adele’s next album would be her first in six years, after her Grammy-winning record 25,
released in 2016.
Last June, it was revealed that Adele had “spent months in the studio recording her new album,
” and that she was “eager for the public to hear it,” according to an insider.
According to the source, the songs would reportedly contain information from her divorce from her spouse Simon Konecki, whom she divorced in 2019 at the age of 30.
During her hosting appearance on Saturday Night Live in October 2020,
the 33-year-old also discussed the album.
During her speech, she explained why she wasn’t also the musical guest for the evening,
saying, “My record isn’t done yet, and I’m afraid to do both.
I’d rather put on several wigs — all of which are mine — have a glass of wine, or six, and see what happens.”
The singer’s representatives have yet to respond to the rumors or advertisements.
To find out whether #AdeleIsComing, we’ll have to wait for confirmation from the lady herself.
