about Anita Pointer
Prior to making it big and becoming a mainstay of the radios in the 1970s and 1980s, the sisters were backup singers who initially attracted attention for their 1940s-inspired attire. They produced successes in a variety of genres, including country, R&B, and rock. Additionally, “Fairytale,” “He’s So Shy,” “Fire,” “Slow Hand,” and “Neutron Dance” are some of their best-known tracks.
Jada, a daughter Anita had from a brief marriage in the 1960s, passed away from cancer in 2003. Roxie, the singer’s granddaughter, was later raised.
The Las Vegas Sun reported in 2008, “The holidays are difficult for me and Roxie.” We make an effort to leave so that we won’t have to think about it. But we’ll be at home this year. We are improving. We were unable to even discuss it for a very long time. It still greatly pains me. Almost every day, I cry. Every day, I think about her.
In 2015, Pointer ended his career as a performer. She was scheduled to perform as a cupcake on The Masked Singer in 2021 alongside her sister Ruth, however she had to withdraw due to illness.
