Christina Applegate reveals she has multiple sclerosis
Christina Applegate, an Emmy Award winner for THE ASSOCIATED PRESS,
has revealed that she has multiple sclerosis, calling her diagnosis a “difficult journey.”
The 49-year-old actress, best known for her performances in “Married… with Children” and “Dead to Me,”
claimed she was diagnosed “a few months ago” in a tweet late Monday.
“It’s been an odd trip thus far. But I’ve had a lot of help from individuals I know who also have this problem “Applegate wrote the following.
“It’s been a long and winding journey. But, as we all know, the journey continues.”

In a subsequent message, she added
“Now I’d like to request some privacy. As I work my way through this.”
MS, commonly known as multiple sclerosis, is a neurological disease that causes gradual physical and cognitive deterioration.
According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, more than 2.3 million individuals worldwide have been diagnosed with MS. According to the nonprofit
organization, over 1 million individuals over the age of 18 in the United States have been diagnos with MS.

Applegate had a Tony Award nomination for the musical
“Sweet Charity” and earned an Emmy for a guest appearance on “Friends” in 2003. “The Sweetest Thing,”
“Anchorman,” “Hall Pass,” and “Bad Moms” are among her flicks.
She previously spoke about her fight with breast cancer in 2008, following which she had a double mastectomy as well as the removal of her ovaries and fallopian tubes.
