Cristiano Ronaldo makes second Manchester United debut in Premier League
Cristiano Ronaldo began Saturday’s Premier League match between Manchester United and Newcastle United at Old Trafford.
Between 2003 and 2009, Ronaldo, 36, spent six seasons at United, collecting eight major championships and scoring 118 goals.
He joined them on a two-year deal from Juventus last month and made his second appearance for the club in the game, which kicked off at 10 a.m. ET.

The captain of Portugal returned from international duty early to prepare for the match.
Ronaldo, who will wear No. 7, said earlier this week that his return to Old Trafford is not a holiday and that he wants to establish himself once again over the next three to four years with consistent performances.
My colleagues and I are capable. I’m all set to leave. It’s a great opportunity for myself, the fans, and the team to go a step forward.
“I believe that in the next three or four years, I will be a big phenomenon.”
Ronaldo hasn’t played for United since the 2009 Champions League
final loss to Barcelona in Rome, following which he moved to Real Madrid for a then-world-record £80 million fee.
De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Maguire, Shaw, Pogba, Matic, Greenwood, Fernandes, Sancho, Ronaldo are the full Manchester United XI.

Manchester United defeated Newcastle United 4-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring twice.
When Mason Greenwood’s sidetrack shot flounces by Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman in stoppage
time after the first half, Ronaldo reacted fastest to score from close range.
In 56 minutes, they were pegged back by a counterattack goal by Javier Manquillo for the visitors.
Manquillo scored with a beautiful shot across the face of the goal after Manchester Unit’s players were caught out of position.
But United quickly regained the lead, with Ronaldo scoring the second goal in the 62nd minute.
Luke Shaw burst into the Newcastle half before passing to Ronaldo, who took a touch before firing past Woodman.
With 10 minutes left, Bruno Fernandes scored a long-range goal to join his Portuguese compatriot
on the board, before United replacement Jesse Lingard added a late fourth to clinch all three points and go to the top of the Premier League table.
