Free Guy is coming to Fortnite, dude — did you catch that?
Because it’s another -y day, Fortnite is hosting a new crossover event. Today, Fortnite players may win a new Free Guy skin and emote by completing missions. It seemed unavoidable that Free Guy would linked to Fortnite in some manner. Fortnite is quietly but steadily consuming every video game and pop culture IP known to man,
so it’s only logical that the video game film would follow suit. After all, Free Guy is the closest thing we’ve ever come to a real Fortnite movie – at least for the time being. (Which is precisely the danger it seems to be.)
The “Dude” skin is a beefed-up version of Ryan Reynolds’ character Guy, and it looks like the kind of guy who sets off the Planet Fitness lunk alarm on a regular basis. Dude has a blue button-up shirt tattooed on one of his pectorals that has a Serious Lore explanation, according to Verge writer Chaim Gartenberg (who reviewed Free Guy). The Good Guy emote, which includes Ryan Reynolds’ voice stating, “Don’t have a good day, have a fantastic day,” while the character performs a little spin that would make New Edition proud, is also available to acquire. Because the emote is spoken, Epic claims the game’s voice lines will be completely translated.

Finding unique ATMs throughout the globe will offer players tasks to complete starting today and continuing until September 6th. Fortnite players may earn a new Free Guy emote by completing missions, and skin will be available for purchase at 8 p.m. ET tonight. You’ll soon be able to dress like the blandest dudebro to grace Fortnite since… Jonesy.
