HBO Max Debuts a First Trailer for such ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel, ‘House of a Dragon’ (VIDEO)
Fans of Game of Thrones will be ecstatic to see that HBO has published the first teaser trailer for House of the Dragon, George R.R. Martin’s highly awaited fantasy drama.
“There are gods, kings, fire, and blood,” says the narrator. In the trailer (see below), Matt Smith’s Prince Daemon Targaryen declares, “Dreams didn’t make us kings; dragons did,” as we witness royal feasts, sword fights, and jousting bouts. Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, played by Emma D’Arcy, approaches the fabled Iron Throne at the conclusion of the video.
House of the Dragon is based on co-creator and executive producer Martin’s novel Fire & Blood, and it takes place 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, chronicling the tale of House Targaryen and the “Dance of the Dragons.”
The project, which has a 10-episode order from HBO, will be co-showrunner by Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal. The network also announced that the programme would premiere in 2022 during its European launch event on Tuesday. Filming in the United Kingdom has been ongoing since April 26.
Paddy King Viserys I Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Lady Alicent Hightower, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Velaryon, Rhys Ifans as Ser Otto Hightower, Sonoya Mizuno as Mysaria, and Fabian Frankel as Ser Criston are among the cast members. Cole appears with Smith and D’Arcy.
All of the ‘Game of Thrones’ Subseries At HBO and HBO Max, a project is now in the works.
In light of George R.R. Martin’s recent announcement of a contract with the network, it’s time to look forward to the new canon.
In May 2019, HBO revealed that numerous spin-off shows were in production after the series finale of Game of Thrones aired.
The Tales of Dunk and Egg is based on Martin’s novellas and follows Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk), a knight who ultimately joins the Kingsguard, and his youthful squire Aegon V Targaryen (Egg), who later becomes king.
