Hugh Jackman Passes COVID-19 Test Ahead Of Broadway Return Of Music Man
Hugh Jackman, who is best known for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men film series, has tested positive for COVID-19. The positive test occurred as Jackman was preparing to perform the main role in The Music Man on Broadway. Due to the continuing COVID-19 outbreak, the Broadway performance has already been postponed for months. Sutton Foster, the show’s leading woman, tested positive, prompting Jackman’s diagnosis. Shows have been canceled until Jackman is cleared to return to the stage on January 6th. Jackman publicized his COVID-19 diagnosis on social media ahead of any potential speculations. Jackman tweeted, “Just wanted you to hear it from me.” “I had a positive covid test. Mild symptoms, and I’m looking forward to coming back to the Winter Garden as soon as I’m cleared!”

A video of a masked Jackman revealing further information about his condition was also included in the tweet. “Hello, good morning. I just wanted to let you know that I tested positive for COVID this morning.” My symptoms are similar to those of a cold. I have a scratchy throat and a runny nose, but I’m OK. I’m just going to do all I can to get well as quickly as possible, and then I’ll be back up on stage and headed to River City. So, I just wanted to let you know. Please be safe, eat well, and treat others with kindness.”

The news of Jackman’s positive COVID-19 test comes amid a worldwide outbreak of the Omicron strain of the virus. It also comes as the CDC released revised recommendations for persons who are asymptomatic but have been infected with the illness, with the new proposed quarantine time being five days rather than ten days.
Many aspects of the entertainment business have been impacted by the recent increase of COVID instances. As a result of Spider-Man: No Way Home’s billion-dollar box office windfall, French movie theaters have barred refreshments from screenings in an effort to stem the spread of the viral virus. Meanwhile, WWE is dealing with internal issues, and video game events have had to reschedule.
ComicBook.com will provide updates when more information on Jackman’s health becomes available.
