Is there a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight?
Saturday Night Live has been cancelled for the second week in a row. The actors and crew of the live sketch comedy are taking a little vacation and will return next month with fresh episodes. When there isn’t a new Saturday Night Live episode on the schedule, NBC replaces it with two repeats, as it does most of the time.
The first episode airs at 8 p.m. Eastern and features Rege-Jean Page, a Bridgerton graduate, in his Season 46 hosting debut, with music by Bad Bunny. Following local news, the typical Saturday Night Live time slot will be filled with an episode from earlier this season. Simu Liu from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and hip-hop musician Saweetie will appear in the second episode.

On April 2nd, comedian Jerrod Carmichael and musical guest Gunna will present live episodes for the first time. Jake Gyllenhaal will return to 30 Rock for his second hosting stint on April 9th, with Grammy-winning musical singer Camila Cabello performing. On April 16th, Lizzo will host and perform as a musical guest, bringing the April episodes to a close. Lizzo will also be performing for the second time at 30 Rock, having previously been in an episode during Season 45. However, she will be hosting the programme for the first time on April 16th.
Pop culture phenoms have made appearances at Studio 8H this season in droves. Loki actor Owen Wilson made his debut in the season premiere, and he’s been joined by Liu, Jonathan Majors (Loki), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Zoe Kravitz (The Batman), and Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac since then.
Because three more episodes have been planned for April, running up to Easter weekend, the comedy is likely to take a break following the April 16th episode. Previously, the programme would take a one-month spring vacation before returning for three or four more episodes to finish the season.
The April 2022 hosting lineup for ‘Saturday Night Live’ has been announced.
Three new hosts have been unveiled for “Saturday Night Live,” as well as musical guests who will appear on the sketch comedy programme in April.
According to NBC, Jerrod Carmichael, a comedian, actor, writer, and producer, will host his debut “SNL” episode on April 2, one night after his new comedy special “Jerrod Carmichael: Rothaniel” premieres on HBO.
Mandy Moore (‘This Is Us’) directs the episode.
The HBO special will be the comedian’s third stand-up performance, after “Jerrod Carmichael: Love at the Store” in 2014 and “8” in 2018, both of which aired on the subscription cable channel.
Carmichael has been associated with NBC since 2015, when he was the executive producer and star of “The Carmichael Show,” which aired on the network for three seasons until 2017.
Gunna, a first-time musical guest, will join Carmichael onstage. The rapper, singer, and songwriter’s third album, “DS4Ever,” debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 list in January 2022, according to a statement from the network.
Jake Gyllenhaal, the actor, will host “SNL” for the second time on April 9. Since January 2007, when the celebrity initially emceed the programme, it has been slightly over 15 years.
Gyllenhaal will attend the premiere of his new action flick “Ambulance,” which is set to hit cinemas on April 8.
NBC4’s musical schedule is valid till April 30.
Along with Gyllenhaal, musical guest Camila Cabello will make her second visit on “SNL.” The Grammy-nominated musician first performed on the event in October 2019, which was hosted by David Harbour of “Stranger Things.”
Cabello’s new album, “Familia,” will be released on April 8th, the day before her appearance on “SNL.”
Finally, multitalented musician Lizzo will make her “SNL” hosting debut on April 16, as well as her second performance on the “SNL” music stage, according to NBC. Lizzo’s first appearance on the programme occurred in December 2019, when Eddie Murphy, a veteran of “SNL,” hosted.
According to NBC, Lizzo’s competition series “Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls” will premiere on Prime Video on March 25.
