Kim is most known for her involvement in the controversial South Korean television series “Snowdrop.” Her name is alternatively written “Misu.” The show, which debuted in December, is a historical drama set in 1987 Korea that depicts the narrative of a blooming relationship set against the backdrop of the pro-democracy movement’s political turbulence. Its portrayal of North Koreans, song selection, and historical accuracy have provoked outrage, with stock prices of linked firms suffering as a result of the backlash, with one petition against it apparently getting over 300,000 signatures, according to Variety.
Kim portrayed a history student who shared a room with Young-ro, the series’ female heroine, who was played by Jisoo of the immensely successful South Korean girl group Blackpink.
Kim has previously acted in a number of films and shorts, including “Snowdrop,” which is now streaming on producer JTBC Studios’ network in Korea and Disney+ internationally. According to JoongAng Daily, she made her acting debut in the 2018 short “Lipstick Revolution,” followed by roles in the 2019 films “Memories” and “Kyungmi’s World,” the 2019 JTBC drama series “Human Luwak,” and the 2020 programmes “Hi Bye, Mama!” and “Into the Ring.”
She also starred in the popular Netflix thriller “Hellbound” a month before the launch of “Snowdrop,” which dethroned “Squid Game” as Netflix’s most-watched series.
