Linda Evangelista claims that her cosmetic surgery left her “deformed.”
Supermodel Linda Evangelista has claimed that the fat reduction surgery “permanently distorted” her owing to a negative response.
The 56-year-old disclosed five years ago that her fatty cells had an uncommon aesthetic adverse effect on the therapy.
She said to her 900,000 followers of Instagraph that, “I was left, as the media characterized, ‘unrecognizable’.”
Evangelista told her it was the reason she withdrew from the public spotlight.
After the slimming surgery-which is also known as body contouring-the Canadian model went on to claim that she had “two painful, failed remedial operations.”
“The fact that I have been horribly scarred by… [a surgery] that accomplished the reverse of what it has promised, is for my followers, who have asked why I did not work while my colleagues’ professions have flourished,” said the evangelist.
She claimed that she had experienced adverse effects. “Not only did it ruin my livelihood, it drove me into a spiral of deep despair, deep sorrow, and self-loathing. I have become a recluse throughout this process. “
In her post on social media, a celebrity told her that she wanted to share her tale to go forward publicly, and recommended that she sue her business.
Evangelista’s business has not yet answered a request for comment from the BBC.
She added, “I’m so weary of living like this. “Though I look no longer like myself, I want to go out my door with my head up high.”
The nonchirurgical technique, which in recent years has become more common in some regions of the body, utilizes low temperatures to decrease fat accumulation.
Evangelista described her “extremely uncommon, but severe adverse effect” and added:
“It is not quite known why that happens,” she said, “means that at the treatment site, the fat cells grow bigger rather than less.”
In the 1990s, Evangelista became known as one of a number of new supermodels, thanks to the high quality of catwalks all over the globe.
She also performed with Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, and Christy Turlington in a George Michael song video.
Stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow and stylist Karla Welch, as well as Jeremy Scott and Brandon Maxwell, supported the commentary from Evangelista.
“You are and will always be a supermodel, adding to your beautiful CV a superb role model of bravery,” Scott said, while the red emoji love was written by Paltrow.
Maxwell: “I’ve always recognized you as a lovely person, sure, but most importantly, you’ve truly shined luminous within… You may never forget and continue to forget the brightness in so many of your darkest times. “
