Man City earn an important win over Chelsea thanks to Gabriel Jesus’ goal.
Manchester City won a thrilling 1-0 victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
With a Romelu Lukaku goal called out for offside, Gabriel Jesus’ 53rd-minute score proved the difference between the two teams.
“We like to play well, therefore we’ve come to play against one of the greatest teams in the world,
the European champions, who are so excellent and have so many incredible players.”
“We did a fantastic job and won the game,” Jesus remarked.
“I spun around, shot, and got a bit fortunate, but I’m thrilled to have scored that goal.”
The most essential aspect is that everyone performed admirably.
“It’s not about the message; we just strive to perform as well as we can.” We have a lot of talented players that can generate opportunities and score goals.”
Chelsea had won their previous three encounters with City, the most recent of which came in last season’s Champions League final.
Pep Guardiola’s team kept their sixth clean sheet in a row in the Premier League.

“We were defeated in this game, and City deserved to win.” We were extremely powerful in the last 20 metres of the field to the goal, but only there.
We weren’t good enough everywhere else to alleviate pressure and harm them,” Thomas Tuchel remarked.
“The performance lacked complexity. Simply put, we were not performing at our best. I’m not sure why,
but after the goal, I felt like my confidence in winning was stronger than my dread of losing.
We attempted to persuade the audience to support us. It was a really emotional game, but we were never at our best.”
City controlled the first half, having almost 70% possession for the majority of it and pushing hard against Tuchel’s side.
The Chelsea defence, on the other hand, held firm, and the teams went into halftime equal.
Through Jesus, City was able to open up a gap eight minutes into the second half.
Joao Cancelo made a darting run with the ball, winning a corner that was sent short and into the area.
Jesus’ shot was deflected slightly, causing it to spin beyond Edouard Mendy.
When Lukaku put the ball into the City goal 10 minutes later, it seemed like Chelsea had levelled the score.
The goal was disallowed because Kai Havertz was clearly offside.
When Jack Grealish burst free from the Chelsea defenders on 82 minutes,
he had the perfect chance to double City’s advantage, but Mendy stopped his effort.
Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso was the only player who did not take a knee before the game,
citing his belief that the gesture was “losing a bit of strength” on Tuesday.
