Man United beaten by Aston Villa at Old Trafford; Bruno Fernandes misses a penalty.
Aston Villa defeated Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday, with Bruno Fernandes missing a stoppage-time penalty in the Premier League match.
After the game ended in a goalless draw, Kortney Hause scored in the 88th minute to give the visitors the win.
In the first half, United had more possession,
but Villa had the better opportunities, with Ollie Watkins and Ezri Konsa both coming close.
In the second half, the hosts struggled to progress and lost crucial defenders Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire to injury.
In the second half, Paul Pogba had a wonderful opportunity after being set up by Scott McTominay, but he shot wide.

When referee Mike Dean pointed to the spot after Edinson Cavani’s header was deemed to have touched Hause’s arm in stoppage time,
United had an opportunity to equalize, but Fernandes’ attempt went well over.
Despite his team’s victory, Villa manager Dean Smith was dissatisfied with the penalty decision.
“We gave them issues from set-pieces, and we score the goal and want to finish the game,” he added.
“But when we face Man United, we always give away a penalty.”
“Extremely severe — I’m not sure where he’s supposed to place his arm,
but justice was definitely served.” They’ll appreciate it, as will our supporters since it’s been a long time coming.”
Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the starting lineup after being one of the first-team players left out of the Carabao Cup third-round loss to West Ham United,
but he failed to score in his first match back.
