Maren Morris Defends Topless Playboy Shoot That Got ‘A Lot of Hate’ — Then Gets Shamed Again
“I see this sort of remark on country music accounts all the time at me, sooo GET OVER IT.”
Even though her detractors had a hard time with it — and are evidently still fighting to get over it — Maren Morris is still proud of her topless Playboy look.
The country music singer went to Instagram on Friday, ahead of the release of her new album “Humble Quest,” to reflect on her controversial choice to be proud of her body and accept her sexuality by choosing to appear in the magazine.
“I did Playboy in 2019 and received a lot of flak at the time,” she said, “but I’m most glad that I presented country female sexuality in its actual form here,” she added.

“We are nuanced, messy, and stretch-marked in the most beautiful manner,” she said, addressing the critics. Don’t take our word for it; we’re a force to be reckoned with We present your heartfelt tales in the most uncompromising, beautiful way possible.”
It didn’t take long for current country music fans to mimic the late-2010s naysayers, plastering their judgement all over the gorgeous and powerful photograph she posted from the session.
Morris, on the other hand, was not present in 2019 and is unlikely to be in 2022. Morris didn’t hesitate to not only respond to one commenter who said, “Please dress appropriately,” as reported by Us Weekly.
She also posted the remark and her epic response to her Instagram Stories to highlight the challenges that women face, particularly in country music, where some fans have a strictly conservative sense of what is and is not appropriate.

Morris responds to the original poster with a funny “RESPECT 4 MOM BOOBZ.” “I see this sort of remark a lot on country music accounts at me,” she said in her Stories. “SOOOOO GET OVER IT,” she added.
“It’s awful that people feel like they have to show off their body to be accepted,” said another user, and “absolutely!” agreed another. Getting nude in front of a camera is not powerful; it’s depressing.”
Morris didn’t participate in this or most of the others that arose, but she had plenty of supporters, one of whom told these commentators, “It is unfortunate that you believe you have the right to condemn another woman’s decisions.”

Morris received a lot of love and support in the mail, including from a number of her celebrity pals. “Wow Wow,” Amanda Kloots said with three fire emojis, while Kyle Richards added, “Holy smoke display.”
“I like this shot!” said Leann Rimes, defending Morris’ shooting and body-image judgments. You have a wonderful appearance. The people who are spouting nonsense are desperate to express this aspect of themselves. “It’s about expression, not suppression,” says the speaker.
Mickey Guyton and Jenna Dewan sent love emoticons, while Carson Kressley gave Morris a standing ovation.
Morris is ready for her “next record era,” which begins on March 25, 2022, now that she’s gotten this message off her chest.
