‘It’s time,’ says Mariah Carey as she smashes pumpkins to start off the Christmas season.
(KRON) — SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Mariah Carey has proclaimed it to be Christmas.
The singer and winter holiday icon shared a video on Halloween night of herself destroying pumpkins and giving a message that it’s OK to start celebrating Christmas on November 1. (East Coasters witnessed it at exactly midnight.)
In the video, three pumpkins are lined up, each with one message written on it: “It’s not time.” Carey smashes the center candy cane baseball bat that says “not,” altering the sentence to “It’s time.”

Carey then throws “snow” and holds Christmas decorations in a warmly furnished living room, replete with a blazing fireplace and stockings on the mantel.
The unofficial Christmas hymn plays in the background: her rendition of “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”
The Guinness World Records account even tweeted that it set a “new record for the earliest Christmas celebration.”
But that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about Thanksgiving. Carey advised reserving the crushed pumpkins for pie since “we still have to go through Thanksgiving!!!”
Can you deliver by Christmas? USPS, FedEx, and UPS have announced Christmas shipment deadlines.
Viewers with a keen eye will also notice a subtle indication in the film indicating that November 5 is a noteworthy day. In the backdrop, a wrapped present flashes for less than a second with the date “11/5” written on it.
It is yet to be determined what it may signify.
