Mariners vs Twins Lineup, Odds, Prediction, Pick, Pitcher, and TV Channel for Today’s Game on April 8th
To be honest, I’m not sure how anybody in working America will get anything done today (or how they did Thursday). The Masters is underway, and baseball is about to begin. You’re telling me I’m meant to focus on my work when Tiger Woods is at Augusta National and Robbie Ray is pitching for the Twins against Buxton and Correa?
HA. That’s a tough one, to be sure.
I’m giddy with excitement. As if it were Christmas or Halloween. I’m all worked up and ready to leap out of my skin. THE MARINERS HAVE RETURNED!
Anyway, let’s return to the domain of business (for the time being) and take a look at the betting odds for the Twins’ season opening in Minnesota.

What time is today’s Mariners game?
On what channel is today’s Mariners game broadcast?
The M’s may be found on Root Sports as usual. You may also watch it on MLB.tv, but depending on your area, blackout limitations may apply. The same can be said for Amazon Prime, which now offers a new MLB Channel to which you may subscribe. Blackout restrictions may apply once more.
Twins versus Mariners Odds Today

You can understand why I’m a bit perplexed on this one. The M’s are a -1.5 underdog. However, the M’s are +100 (bet $100 to win $100) and the Twins are -110 (bet $110 to win $100) on the moneyline (straight-up winner).
The M’s are +150 at -1.5 on the spread (if you bet $100 and they win by two or more, you earn $150), while the Twins are -180 at +1.5 on the spread (if they lose by one or win, you gain $100 on a $180 wager).
If all you care about is the game’s run total, the over-under is set at 8.0. If you want to bet on the over, the odds are +100 (bet $100 to win $100) and -120 (bet $120 to win $100).

For the first time, Seattle will send out the reigning Cy Young Award winner to the mound. Ray inked a 5-110 contract with the organisation this offseason, apparently phoning the M’s and requesting to come here in part because of Mitch Haniger’s Players Tribune piece. He’ll have his hands full with Correa and Buxton, and it’ll be fascinating to see whether 2021 is Ray’s true look, or if it’s only a career year.
Starting lineup for the Mariners
This morning, at 9 a.m. PT, Seattle confirmed their starting lineup. Crawford is the most significant difference from last year. Last year, he led off or hit 2 a lot, and he’s currently in the eighth slot. Frazier is an excellent leadoff hitter, and the remainder of the order seems to be rather capable, particularly in terms of “oh my, if these guys can stay healthy.”
The youthful wunderkinds are also back-to-back at 6 and 7, with Kelenic DHing and Julio hitting 7th in centre.
Prediction for the Mariners vs. Athletics game Today
It seems to be a low-scoring game. Sure, pitchers aren’t likely to go as far into games as they would in June, and both clubs are capable of scoring seven runs in a game. HOWEVER. Robbie Ray is unstoppable, while Byron Buxton demonstrates his quickness by catching everything he sees. The Mariners are down 3-2 in the eighth inning when Julio hits a two-run home run to give them a 4-3 lead and the victory.
