Max George pays heartfelt homage to bandmate Tom Parker on Instagram.
In the aftermath of his cancer diagnosis, Max George has honoured his late bandmate Tom Parker as a “lion” and commended his “courage and dignity.”
The musician died on Wednesday, 17 months after being diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour, surrounded by his family and bandmates.
George posted a series of images of them hugging on Instagram, along with a note intended to his pal.

“Tom, my brother, my boy, my band mate, my closest pal,” he wrote. You touched so many lives throughout the globe, but I can only speak for myself. I knew this was going to be a special chapter in my life the moment I met you. I was correct.
“We did everything together, some incredible, some ridiculous things.” I’m quite pleased of what we’ve accomplished as a band and as brothers.”
“I’m also glad that I was there the night you met Kels,” he continued, referring to Parker’s widow Kelsey.
‘You like her, don’t you?’ I recall asking to you, to which you answered, ‘dude, like you wouldn’t believe.’ “You two are indeed peas and carrots.” Thank you for selecting me as one of your friends. From the beginning, it was a privilege. “I’m so glad I stayed with you till the end.” “The great void now left in my life will forever be there, but I know your spirit will continue on via your two beautiful kids, your amazing wife, our music, your fans, and in my heart,” says the author.
George claimed he is “beyond words” distraught and can’t picture life without Parker.
“However, no matter what I do in the future, I can always grin and say, ‘I shared the stage with Tom Parker,'” he continued.
“I’m going to miss you terribly.” Mate, I adore you. Always. George.”
Parker played with his bandmates — George, Nathan Sykes, Siva Kaneswaran, and Jay McGuiness – on their homecoming tour weeks before his death, despite his sickness.
Parker was hailed by Sykes as “the most passionate, witty, determined, and inspirational guy you could desire to meet” in his own tribute.

Parker’s death was confirmed via a statement on The Wanted’s social media platforms on Wednesday.
Kelsey, his wife, said their family’s hearts are “broken,” recalling the singer’s “infectious grin and vibrant personality.”
They had been married since 2018, and their son, Bodhi, was born in October of that year.
Aurelia Rose, their daughter, was born in 2019.
