At the age of 17, Neve Campbell was attacked by a bear on the set of a film.
Neve Campbell describes being taken away from a film set after a bear assault terrified her when she was just 17 years old.
Neve Campbell, actress of the horror picture Scream, recently recounted a terrifying incident in which she fought off a bear attack while filming an early film. Her appearance as Sidney Prescott in Wes Craven’s 1996 slasher movie got her a lot of attention. To this day, Scream remains one of the most popular horror films of all time, with more than two decades of popularity behind it and a total of five sequels in the series. Campbell, who has appeared in all four previous Scream films and earned acclaim as one of the genre’s most beloved heroines, is returning to the role in 2022’s Scream, which will be released on January 14th.
Campbell’s filmography dates all the way back to 1992, when she landed her first major part in Catwalk, a Canadian series, after a string of small roles in numerous other productions.. Party of Five, on which she featured with Matthew Fox and Jennifer Love Hewitt as Julia Salinger for six seasons, helped her break through to a wider audience. After starring in Scream, Campbell was cast as Bonnie Harper in The Craft, a horror film released in the same year. Campbell has been in a variety of films and television programmes throughout the years, most notably in Skyscraper in 2018 and the highly praised Netflix blockbuster show House of Cards.

Campbell shared a particularly memorable shooting experience from when she was 17 while appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Her character would have to be hunted by a bear as part of the role she was performing, the actress said. Despite being told to dip her hand in honey and feed the bear, the beast pursued her and pulled her into the forest by the leg, according to Campbell’s account. Actors are occasionally asked to do “silly things,” according to the actress, but she seems to have moved on from the experience completely. In the end, Campbell was saved and made it through the remainder of the shooting process. Here is Campbell’s whole tale, which you may read by clicking on it.
Fortunately, Campbell escaped with minor injuries. As a result of the incident, she seemed to have developed a greater sense of self-confidence. Campbell has been cast in The Lincoln Lawyer as well as the impending sequel to Scream. Following a defence attorney in Los Angeles who operates his office out of a chauffeur-driven Lincoln Town Car, the Netflix legal drama series is based on the 2005 book and its sequels. Deputy District Attorney Maggie McPherson, who was formerly married to Haller’s character, Mickey Haller, will be played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.
In many ways, Campbell’s tale is horrifying because it illustrates a different attitude to on-set safety in the film business only a few short years ago. Campbell, on the other hand, has gone on to have a successful acting career in a variety of genres since the terrible event. It’s no surprise that she’s built such a large and devoted following over the years, given her incredible skill. Scream’s Sidney Prescott may be a household name, but surviving a bear attack in real life is a much more impressive accomplishment for the actress who portrays her. While Campbell’s Ghostface has tortured her for decades, it’s evident that she’s made of tough stuff and will likely escape the killer’s assaults once again when Scream hits cinemas in theatres in November.
