Oh, baby! Lil Nas X is set to release his first album shortly, and he has pregnancy photos to prove it.
Lil Nas X, who is known for songs like “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” and “Old Town Road,” has shared pictures of himself with an apparent bun in the oven, according to People.
His latest album, “Montero” (his birth name is Montero Lamar Hill), will be released on September 17th. According to the People report, the rapper traced the origins of the phony pregnancy photos back to a conversation with his stylist: “‘Yeah, this is my child, isn’t it?’ “‘Yeah, you should do a pregnant shot,’ she said as a joke.”
There’s also lingering resonance from his recent parody of Drake’s upcoming album cover art, “Certified Lover Boy,” which includes emojis of 12 different pregnant women (due out Friday) (art designed by Damien Hurst). To promote “Montero,” Lil Nas X released his own version of the picture, but with emojis of 12 pregnant males.
He tweeted a “sonogram” of the album cover art inside a womb in response to the People pictures.
The responses on the internet expected.
@selsepiphany stated, “This is why I’m h0m0ph0bic”; @MaskiQueen observed,”… as women don’t appreciate this”; @selsepiphany remarked, “This is why I’m h0m0ph0bic” “There’s nothing wrong with being homosexual, but this has gone too far,” @ill ra said, adding, “This isn’t the wave.” They’ve had infertile n s— n dudes and ladies who can’t celebrate pregnancy by doing this. “
Some, on the other hand, came out to defend the artist. “Stop pressuring him, he’s pregnant and may lose his kid!” tweeted @GFLR world. “If he thinks this is a smart way to promote his record, he’s correct because I’M LOVING THIS,” says the author.
Others claimed to be the father, while @DolanDark observed that this would result in a “Lil lil nas x.”
“OMG I WAS RIGHT,” one fan, @LeoStc_, wrote after screenshotting his previous reaction to Lil Nas X’s February promise of a “major announcement soon” (@LeoStc: “pregnancy?”).
One user (@iiPrimeLion) accurately anticipated the mini-furor among a sea of haters tweeting variants of “nobody cares” to show the world how dissatisfied they were: They shared a screenshot of Bea Arthur screaming into a phone, “PLEASEEEEE THEY’RE GONNA BE SO HEATED AT THIS,” they said.
