Producers Cut Will Smith‘s Acceptance Speech After Venus Williams’ Wardrobe Fails During the Oscars
Venus Williams made quite a fuss backstage after a wardrobe malfunction during the show, and she wasn’t the only one who had Oscar producers in a tizzy.
The filmmakers moved to Venus and her sister Serena as Will was making his statement after being crowned Best Actor winner.
Given that Will was winning an award for his role as their father in the film King Richard, their response was crucial.
Realted Will Smith
The camera proceeded to transition to the Oscars logo after a quick view of Serena and Venus with their families – but you could still hear Will speaking in the background. The live show repeatedly cut to the logo before giving up and focusing completely on Will.
On social media, a snapshot of Venus has surfaced that seems to solve the riddle of what happened. The tennis player was dressed in a stunning low-cut white gown that flaunted her cleavage. However, it seems that when Venus was seated, the dress shifted and revealed her without her knowledge.
A producer capturing the wardrobe malfunction seems to be the reason for the cuts back and forth between the Oscars logo and Will throughout his speech.
After seeing Will’s full adventure with Chris Rock just minutes before his triumph, the show’s personnel was certainly not prepared to cope with any more drama.
Chris delivered a series of jokes in front of the crowd before delivering an award, as Radar has reported. He tried to make a joke about Jada’s baldness, claiming she was ready to appear in GI: Jane 2, a sequel to the Demi Moore picture in which she shaved her head.
Jada has been candid about her alopecia — a disorder that causes her hair to fall out — problems. When living with the disease, many individuals encounter a variety of symptoms.
Will was offended by the joke and stormed onto the stage, slapping Chris across the face. He then stormed off the stage, yelling at the audience not to mention his wife.
He sat down and kept yelling at Chris to not mention his wife’s name.
Chris refused to seek charges against Will, and the police are said to have dropped the case.
