“I’m very pleased, I got the opportunity to start today and I knew I had to make the most of it,” Asensio said after the game. “I’ve worked hard for this moment and I’m very happy with the victory, the goals, and to keep this team dynamic continuing.”
“It was a memorable game for me, it’s a club I have a lot of love for, it’s a club where I grew up, they’ve started the season well, and I hope the rest goes well,” the ex-Mallorca player said.
“It’s real that having put him for that position becomes which he can hurt an opposition team,” Ancelotti said of Asensio’s performance. “He did really well, it’s true that putting him in that position is where he can hurt the opposing team, between the lines he has a lot of quality, he shoots well, he combines well with the forwards.”
“He performed well, and let’s hope he can do it again next week.”

“[He demonstrated] that he can play in this position, it’s a position where he can do a lot of damage, it’s between the lines, it’s not out wide, getting the ball there with his shot is dangerous for the opponents,” Ancelotti said of Asensio’s new position.
“Of course, thinking he’s scored eight goals may make you forget he’s playing very well for the team, with the ball, assists for others, he’s a striker who doesn’t only score goals, he’s complete in every respect,” Ancelotti said of Benzema’s performance.
“We can put in [Luka] Jovic, who is doing well when he becomes weary.” Jovic has tough competition, but he’s performing well; he had opportunities today, and he performed well in Valencia.”
Real Madrid leads the table with 16 points after six games, two more than Atletico Madrid in second place.
