Salty Instead of Eagles-Buccaneers, Troy Aikman wishes he was calling them 49ers-Cowboys.
They had some major names in football commentary in the booth for Sunday’s three NFL Playoff games. They were among them. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, who were assigned to call the wild-card game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles, were among them. When it came to the remainder of Sunday’s schedule, Aikman made little attempt to disguise his disappointment at not being in the booth for the Cowboys-49ers game on Sunday afternoon.
Aikman stated he felt the Cowboys’ game against the 49ers would be a terrific game before implying that he wished he could have been in the booth to see his old team. Buck broke out laughing at his statements, albeit Aikman’s comments were obviously not made in a joke, based on the look on his face.
“It’s gonna be a great game. I mean a really good game. There’s a lot of people that would like to be calling that game.”

It’s difficult to blame Aikman for wishing he was at AT&T Stadium to see the Cowboys game, particularly given the extent of the Bucs’ demolition of the Eagles. When Aikman played for the Cowboys, he won three Super Bowls, made six Pro Bowls, and was eventually inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It’s only logical that the former Cowboy would want to watch his team as they prepare for what could be a long playoff run.

Unfortunately for Aikman, he was assigned to the Eagles-Bucs game by his superiors, and it’s fair to assume he wasn’t pleased.
Everyone is saying the same thing about Troy Aikman. Sunday
Early in the first quarter, Eagles defensive end Derek Barnett was called for roughing the passer on Tom Brady. The official’s decision did not sit well with FOX commentator Troy Aikman.
Barnett was late to TB12, but once he made contact with Brady, he looked to pull up. Not even covering him in a blanket and lowering him to the ground.

“I mean, you can’t go that low, but c’mon,” cried Aikman.
The displeasure in the Hall of Fame quarterback’s voice could be heard by a lot of spectators and media members as he sought to make sense of the flag.
When Troy Aikman passionately disagrees with a penalty call against the Eagles… You know you made a bad call.

When Troy Aikman vehemently argues with an Eagles penalty decision, Russ Joy tweets, “You know you made a horrible call.”
When Aikman exclaimed, “Come on! “on a preposterous late hit call involving Brady, it seemed as if he was speaking for all quarterbacks past,” wrote Andrew Marchand of the New York Post.

What might have been a crucial third down was wiped out by the roughing call. Brady, on the other hand, was able to march down the field for six plays and establish an early lead.
