Selena Gomez, star of ‘Only Murders in the Building,’ enjoys real crime, but not the “morbid” aspect.
Only Murders in the Building, Selena Gomez’s new Hulu series, premieres today. It stars Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short as neighbors who produce a true-crime podcast while investigating a murder in their building. Selena is a lover of true-crime material in real life, but not necessarily the murder-y aspect of it.
She tells ABC Audio, “I adore the psychology behind it.” “It’s fascinating to watch how people solve cases,” says the author. It’s strange to say that I’m interested in it, but I don’t believe I’m really interested in the morbid aspect. I believe it’s more about the allure of [figuring out the] A to Z. “
Despite the fact that Selena is decades younger than her co-stars, Martin Short and Steve Martin told ABC Audio that they enjoyed working with her.
“I think what was wonderful about it was how fast she fit in with our energy,” Short says, “in the sense that we all approach producing something in front of the camera in the same way.” “It should be lighthearted and enjoyable. You should definitely visit the set… And it was sort of perfect… how fast we all got into the same kind of shooting groove. “
Selena claims she wasn’t laughing out loud after every scene when working with the two famous comedians…
But, as she tells ABC Audio, “most situations.”
“When the cameras stopped filming, the laughter continued. She continues, “It was a lot of fun.” “Obviously, there were times when it was quiet and we could enjoy each other’s company. Then it was just us shooting s*** most of the time. “
