What is Hawkeye going to be about?
Hawkeye will follow the titular Avenger Clint Barton, portrayed by Jeremy Renner, as well as the next Hawkeye,
Kate Bishop, played by newcomer to the MCU Hailee Steinfeld, in a film directed by Rhys Thomas and directorial
duo Bert & Bertie. Kate has been posing as Ronin, or a variation of Ronin, according to the teaser, which is
wonderfully quirky.
Following Clint’s confrontation, both Hawkeyes join forces for a hazardous operation that includes several vehicle chases and a gunfight in Rockefeller Plaza.
There’s also a short appearance by Vera Farmiga as Kate’s mother, Eleanor Bishop, and very brief sight of Alaqua
Cox as Echo/ Maya Lopez, another Marvel character who takes up the Hawkeye mantle, according to IMDb.
Florence Pugh, who portrays Natasha Romanoff’s sister Yelena Belova and was set to appear in Hawkeye
following the events of Black Widow, is noticeably missing from the first teaser (2021).
It’s uncertain if Yelena will be the primary adversary of the series or an unexpected ally for Kate and Clint. It’s also unknown if Hawkeye will follow in the footsteps of Marvel’s most recent series, Loki, or take into account the MCU-altering events that occurred there.
Regardless, we’re looking forward to seeing Rogers: The Musical and whatever else Hawkeye has in store for us.
Hawkeye will be released on November 24, 2021, and in the meanwhile, you can keep up with the rest of the MCU on Disney+.
