Payne’s Valley is the first public TGR Design golf course in the United States, located near the Big Cedar Lodge in the gorgeous Ozark Mountains.
Payne’s Valley was designed to provide a championship-caliber, family-friendly golf experience for people of all ability levels to enjoy the game and the gorgeous natural surroundings.
The 18-hole golf course is set among magnificent rock outcroppings, strong mountain ridges, vast valleys, pure streams, and gorgeous mature trees, offering a memorable setting.

Sprawling, broad fairways will highlight playability while also enabling experienced players to focus on strategic angles and shot values. The stunning 19th hole, built by Johnny Morris, founder of Bass Pro Shops and Big Cedar Lodge, brings the world-class course to a close. To finish the round, the par three hole plays to an island green flanked by streams and waterfalls cascading down exposed rock sides.

Morris and Tiger Woods golf course established a cooperation with the family of Payne Stewart, a Springfield native who rose to prominence on the PGA Tour before dying in a plane accident in 1999, to develop the first public access golf courses. Payne’s Valley will be its name.

TGR Design said Tuesday that it has signed a contract to create Payne’s Valley, its first public-access course, for the Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Mo., near Branson on the Arkansas border.
