Tiger Woods’ reaction when he spotted a fan wearing his mugshot on a t-shirt
Tiger Woodsmugshot was shocked with a fan’s handmade Tiger apparel as he walked to the next hole at The Players Championship on Saturday, just moments after he and Kevin Na entertained the crowd on the island green.
On Saturday, spectator Thomas Wesling arrived to TPC Sawgrass wearing a t-shirt with a picture of Tiger Woods mugshot‘ mugshot from his 2017 arrest on suspicion of DUI. The event, according to Woods, was caused by a combination of prescription medicines he was taking while healing from back problems.
Wesling shouted Woods’ name in an attempt to grab his attention, and although Tiger didn’t slow down or turn his head, he did grin as he passed Wesling.
Other pro golfers, according to Wesling, thought his shirt was humorous.
“I didn’t expect this,” Wesling remarked, “but it drew a response from practically every single person we passed during the competition.”
Many of the golfers that went through Wesling during the day, including Jon Rahm and Jason Dufner, laughed heartily. Wesling was informed by a tournament employee that Dufner had his caddy notify Woods’ caddie that the shirt would be near the 18th tee.
Wesling added, “I didn’t really expect to be recognized by the players themselves.” “With so many people hollering at Tiger, it’s difficult to get him to notice anybody.”
