Dua’s most recent album, “Future Nostalgia,” was published in 2020. However, the Grammy winner had no idea that her song “Levitating” would become such a sensation.
“I can never predict how people will respond to a song,” she said, “but ‘Levitating’ was the first song that helped influence the remainder of the record.”
Dua said last month that hard work was the secret to her success.
The London-born singer has had a stratospheric ascent in recent years, and Dua has no plans to slow down any time soon.
“It’s simply something that’s embedded in me,” Dua said when asked about her work ethic.
I’m not sure what it is, but I get the feeling that if I don’t work hard enough, the rug may be yanked out from under my feet at any time.
The pop queen also disclosed that she’s been working on a new album lately.
Dua said that she already had a “vision” for the album and a name for it.
“I’ve done a lot of writing; stuff’s beginning to take form; I’ve got a lot of it recorded,” she said.
“It has a plan.” For the time being, I believe it has a name. Experimenting has been a lot of fun. I’ll always produce pop music, but it’ll have its own distinct sound that’s exhilarating and feels like a movement from “Future Nostalgia.”
“We’ll see how it evolves since it’s still in infant form.” It’s probably not what my fans want to hear, but I’m not in a hurry. “
