The ruckus over NBA 2K player and team ratings is one of the year’s dumbest exercises, but I have to give 2K credit for making it such popular fodder for summer social media bickering. There’s nothing quite like arguing that a Milwaukee Bucks player’s athleticism should be increased progressively. Despite the fact that I haven’t played an NBA video game since NBA Live 2005 (shoutout to the dunk contest feature in that one), I like watching the debate, especially when players weigh-in. But there’s a far darker narrative behind those ratings
announcements every year. For many young athletes, it’s a dream that has been put on hold. I’m referring to the fact that no fringe roster players were included in NBA 2K’s first team rosters when the game was released. And yes, this qualifies as an in-kind contribution to Sandro Mamukelashvili’s effort to be officially added to today’s NBA games 2K22.

In summer league, he proceeded to steal our hearts. Then, in the preseason, his unusual, lefty, ball-handling bigness received a boost from his balling out against the Brooklyn Nets. After practise footage showed Giannis Antetokounmpo abusing him as Yi Jianlian treated his notorious chair, the Bucks social media crew sent him plummeting down a few pegs.

Every year, hundreds of obscure NBA players must be manually added to 2K via the generosity of devoted fans. Another one of these video game oversights is Mamu. Another is his colleague Georgios Kalaitzakis, who, like many others across the league, is waiting for his just-okay player model to be graded as a 68 and made playable in today’s nba games 2K. Players all around the country are scrambling to add their favourite marginal player hanging to the last roster place as a user-created model right now. Meanwhile, NBA players must merely wait, hoping that their play will be flashy enough for Visual Concepts’ developers to notice.
The good news for athletes like Mamu is that there is light at the end of the tunnel. HoopsHype includes 585 players who have ranks in NBA 2K21 last year.
Their 2K22 list currently stands at 464. Mamu, like many others, should be playable before the conclusion of the season. But in the next weeks and months, we can make a difference for ballers like Mamu. We may retweet their little efforts, such as offensive rebounds, diving for loose balls, deflections, and garbage time layups. What matters most is that no screen assist goes ignored by the today’s nba games 2K development staff as they try to fill up each club’s roster. A full-scale player model is not given to everyone; some must work harder, or “grind,” in player jargon. This is where we, the fans, come in. It’s time to realise Mamu’s and others’ digital avatar fantasies.
