Updates on the Iowa football vs. Nebraska game: Logan Smothers’ touchdown run puts the Huskers on the board first.

Iowa’s last regular-season game has here, as has Black Friday.
On BTN at 12:30 p.m., the No. 12 Hawkeyes (9-2, 6-2 Big Ten Conference) will play Nebraska (3-8, 1-7). Iowa needs assistance to win the Big Ten West division, but the Hawkeyes must win in Lincoln for any of this to matter.
Hawk Central journalists Kennington Smith and Chad Leistikow, as well as photographer Bryon Houlgrave, are reporting live from Memorial Stadium. Dargan Southard will provide live updates throughout the game, so stay tuned in from pregame through postgame for full coverage of Iowa’s Black Friday road trip.

NEBRASKA 7, IOWA 0 AT THE END OF THE FIRST QUARTER
Since the first touchdown drive, the Hawkeye defence has held the fort. Iowa now has excellent field position as a result of back-to-back stops. When we return, the Hawkeyes will take over around midfield.
3:04/1Q – Iowa’s defence responds to the call.
The Hawkeyes force a three-and-out and begin in Nebraska territory.
4:29/1Q – A startling change of events.
Sam LaPorta seemed to have a touchdown reception on fourth-and-goal, but review overturns the catch after the ball squirted out after the catch and contact with the ground. Given what was called on the field, I’m shocked it was reversed. Nebraska maintains a 7-0 lead and will take over at the 1. 5:21/1Q — Iowa faces a critical third-and-goal situation.
The Hawkeyes request a timeout with third-and-goal from the Nebraska 13. Earlier in the drive, Sam LaPorta and Keegan Johnson both converted important third-downs. Is Alex Padilla capable of one more?
9:18/1Q – Nebraska with a strong first drive.
A fourth-and-short conversion, followed by a massive completion from Logan Smothers. He caps off the drive with a short touchdown run. The touchdown drive lasted 12 plays and 75 yards. Nebraska had a 7-0 lead early on.
— 12:35 p.m. Jack Koerner is on the field. Cooper DeJean is not a redshirt.

12:29 p.m. – We’re almost set to go.
Iowa wins the coin toss and chooses to defer. Logan Smothers will make an early appearance.
— 12:15 p.m. Nebraska, on the other hand, has a significant absence.
Damion Daniels is OUT today, too. Not in pads.

It’ll all come down to how safety Jack Koerner looks in
12:03 p.m. — Other than previously announced injuries/health issues, Iowa doesn’t have any additional availability concerns.
There was talk early Friday about the Hawkeyes dealing with potential flu issues. But it seems that was rumor only. Hawkeyes expected to be at full strength on that front.
Nobody expected out with an illness today for Iowa. https://t.co/8FcN5pXxii

It’ll all come down to how safety Jack Koerner looks in pregame.
Iowa’s first-team OL today: Richman, Schott, Linderbaum, Colby, Plumb.
Hawkeyes hopeful to get FS Jack Koerner back. Game-time decision.
