Watch dua lipa songs Talk About Her ‘Very Best Of’ Setlist for Her ‘Future Nostalgia Tour
Lipa spoke on “The Late Act With Stephen Colbert” to talk about her live show, what she wore when Elton phoned to conduct business, and more.
To call your second album Future Nostalgia takes a lot of guts. dua lipa songs can speak, walk, sing, and dance her way through any situation. With a slew of successes including “Levitating,” “Physical,” and her duet with Elton John on “Cold Heart,” the British pop diva is evoking future nostalgia.
Lipa has had it all her own way in pop music, despite the epidemic keeping most of us locked up and separated from our friends. She’s won three Grammy Awards in recent years, including Best Female Solo Artist and Album of the Year at the Brit Awards, and her song “Levitating” was the No. 1 smash on Billboard’s year-end Hot 100 Songs list in 2021. Lipa will be able to perform those tunes to patient fans all over the world now that her Future Nostalgia Tour has been relaunched and is ready to hit the road.
Lipa went on The Late Performance With Stephen Colbert on Thursday night (Feb. 3) to talk about her live show, wearing nothing when Elton called to do business, and more.
She tells Colbert that the next global tour is “very different” from the one scheduled for 2020. For openers, the record was released in March 2020, just around the time the World Health Organization announced the epidemic. Lockdown turned out to be a terrific time for millions of people to do nothing except watch Future Nostalgia. “This time,” she adds of her live presentation, “I’ve done a lot of audience research and I feel like I know what songs people appreciate…the it’s best of.”
After a lengthy hiatus, Elton John returned to the top of the charts in the United Kingdom and Australia with “Cold Heart.” The song, which was reworked by Pnau, an Australian electronic production group, had an unusual beginning.
Lipa was developing songs for a new album in Los Angeles when Elton phoned to pitch the tune. On Facetime, to be precise. She recalls wearing a bikini and a cowboy hat. “There’s no way I’d have it any other way.” It was ideal.”
Lipa turned the script and became host for a minute during the interview, engaging Colbert in a deep and important conversation on how his faith intersects with humour.
