Scottie Scheffler wins tiger woods at the masters finishes 47th
On Sunday, Scottie Scheffler, a 25-year-old University of Texas graduate, defeated Rory McIlroy and Cameron Smith to win the Masters golf competition.
Scheffler is the world’s No. 1 golfer, and he was in first place on the leaderboard on Sunday. In the last round, Scheffler was matched with Cameron Smith, an Australian 28-year-old.
Scheffler won his first major tournament by three strokes over McIlroy in the final round.
Tiger Woods, the five-time Masters winner, finished in 47th place. After a 17-month hiatus, Woods returned to high-stakes golf in this event.
Last year, after suffering many injuries in a high-speed automobile accident, Woods watched the event from a hospital bed. Woods earned a standing ovation at the finish of his final round at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.

After the round, Woods told CBS, “I definitely wasn’t playing my best out there.” “I’m not sure if words can adequately express where I was a year ago and what my chances were.”
The 46-year-old golfer has expressed gratitude for even being able to compete in the Masters.
Woods played with Jon Rahm, a 27-year-old Arizona State University graduate, in the final round. Woods was tied for 41st place on the tournament leaderboard with Rahm and Russell Henley going into the round.
On Saturday, Woods finished the third round with a 6-over 78, his worst score at Augusta in his 93 career rounds. He needed four putts to complete the fifth hole, an uncommon move in his Masters career.
After Saturday’s play, Woods remarked, “I simply couldn’t get a feel for feeling comfortable with the ball.”
Woods was 12 strokes behind Scheffler at the ninth hole of the third round.
