Elon Musk’s convoluted life includes his ‘bad’ father and a second kid with wife of elon musk.
The 50-year-old SpaceX entrepreneur and Tesla millionaire has joined Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and Microsoft’s Bill Gates as one of just five ‘centibillionaires’ in the world, with a personal wealth surpassing $100 billion.
But the controversial figure’s life hasn’t always been easy.
Elon Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa, to model Maye Musk and electromechanical engineer Errol Musk. He grew up with his younger brother, Kimbal, and sister, Tosca.
Musk chose to live with his father, who seemed “lonely,” when Maye and Errol split in 1980.
He quickly realised, though, that it was “not a good idea.”
“He was such a horrible person.
You’ve got no clue, “According to Rolling Stone, Musk said.
“You have no clue how horrible it is.
He’s committed almost every crime you can think of.
Almost every horrible action you can think of has been done by him.”
Musk has been silent about his estranged father in recent years.
(In 2018, Errol Musk made news after welcoming a baby with his stepdaughter, who is 40 years his younger.)
Musk characterised his upbringing as “like agony” in Ashlee Vance’s 2015 book, Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future.
“[My father] has a knack for making people’s lives a living hell.
He’s not in a good mood, “he said
“I’m not sure how someone gets to be the way he is.
It would be just too inconvenient to tell you any more.”
Aside from home difficulties, Musk struggled at school.

Throughout his youth, he was constantly tormented and was once hospitalised when a gang of guys shoved him down a flight of stairs.
“South Africa is extremely harsh,” Musk’s brother, wife of elon musk, told Esquire.
“Elon was bullied by children, and it had a significant influence on his life. In South Africa, even if you are being bullied, you must attend school. All you have to do is get up in the morning and go. He despised it so badly.”
While education was difficult, Musk sought solace in computers and his increasing ambition to relocate to the United States, which he regarded as a nation of limitless potential.
Musk came to Canada after graduating from high school to study at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, before moving to the University of Pennsylvania, where he subsequently finished with degrees in economics and physics.
Although Musk was eventually admitted to a PhD programme at Stanford University in California, he left out after just two days, preferring to immerse himself in the culture of Silicon Valley.
Musk co-founded Zip2, a software firm that provides online city guide software to newspaper publishers, alongside his brother Kimbal. However, the brothers could not afford an apartment in California at the time. They slept on the office sofa and bathed at a local YMCA instead.
“The website was up during the day, and I was coding it at night, seven days a week, all the time,” Musk said in a 2014 lecture.
“I briefly had a girlfriend at that time, and she had to sleep in the workplace in order to be with me.”

But it paid off in the end. Compaq purchased Zip2 for $307 million four years after it was formed, with Musk collecting $22 million for his stake in the firm.
Musk’s career – and personal fortune – have increased exponentially since the debut of Zip2 in 1995.
In 1999, he co-founded X.com, an online bank that eventually merged with Confinity to become PayPal before being purchased by eBay for $1.5 billion.
Musk built SpaceX, joined Tesla, and helped build SolarCity, a solar energy services firm, after earning $165 million from eBay’s acquisition of PayPal.
Musk, on the other hand, was almost bankrupt by 2008. Musk was living off personal debts throughout the global financial crisis and troubles at SpaceX and Tesla.
“[2008] was undoubtedly the worst year of my life,” he told 60 Minutes afterwards.
“I remember waking up on the Sunday before Christmas in 2008 and thinking to myself, ‘Man, I never thought I was capable of having a mental breakdown.’ This seemed like the closest I’d ever gotten. Because it seemed to be so dark.”

Musk’s personal life was also in turmoil at the moment.
Musk divorced his eight-year marriage, Canadian novelist Justine Wilson, in 2008. The couple had twin boys and triplet sons throughout their marriage. Nevada, their first child, died of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at the age of ten weeks.
Wilson wrote the following for Marie Claire in an iconic piece: “He issued me an ultimatum after a month and three [counselling] sessions: ‘Either we solve this marriage today or I will divorce you tomorrow.’ The following morning, he filed for divorce.”
“Six weeks [after Musk filed for divorce], he contacted me to say he was engaged to a stunning British actress in her early twenties who had relocated to Los Angeles to be with him,” she said.
Musk married Talulah Riley, a British actress, in 2010.
Riley told the Evening Standard that she first met Musk at a London bar.
“‘This is my rocket, this is my electric vehicle,’ he said as he showed me the photographs on his phone. I did believe he was a touch crazy at times “she said
They eventually divorced in 2012, remarried in 2013, and divorced again in 2016.

Musk was connected to actress Amber Heard, whom he had apparently been chasing since 2012, during the couple’s second divorce. Their romance, however, did not endure long.
“I was deeply in love, and it hurt a lot,” Musk subsequently said to Rolling Stone about his breakup with Heard.
In terms of his profession, things began to look positive for Musk when SpaceX was awarded a $1.5 billion NASA contract, while Tesla continued to thrive. In fact, Robert Downey Jr.’s depiction of Tony Stark in Marvel’s Iron Man was inspired by Musk’s quick professional advancement.
Musk went on to start many additional firms in the years that followed, including OpenAI, Neuralink, and The Boring Company.
Musk, on the other hand, has had his fair share of issues as his company portfolio and social media presence have increased.

After joining Donald Trump’s business advisory team, the now 50-year-old received a lot of heat. (After Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris climate deal, Musk stepped down.)
Then, in 2018, Musk came under fire for calling British diver Vernon Unsworth a “pedo person” after his role in the Tham Lung cave rescue of a children’s soccer team in Thailand. Despite the fact that Unsworth sued Musk for defamation, Musk was found not guilty of defaming the diver.
Musk has lately been criticised for distributing false information on the COVID-19 pandemic, including stating that mortality figures were falsified and tweeting false information about COVID-19 testing.
The 50-year-old also made headlines lately by purchasing Twitter Inc for $44 billion in cash (AUD$61 billion), putting him in control of the social media network.
The board of directors has authorised the deal, which will now be put to a shareholder vote.
Musk started dating Canadian artist Grimes, better known as Claire Boucher, in 2018 amid the scandals.
Grimes revealed her pregnancy in 2019 and confirmed that Musk was the father.
“X A-12” was the name given to their son, who was born in May 2020. His name was later modified to “X AE A-XII” because the name was found prohibited under California law. “X” is a nickname used by the couple for their kid.

Musk told Page Six in September 2021 that he and Grimes are “semi-separated” but still co-parent together.
He said, “We are semi-separated but still love one other, visit each other regularly, and are on wonderful terms.”
“It’s basically because my job at SpaceX and Tesla needs me to be based in Texas or travel internationally, while hers is based in Los Angeles.”
“She’s currently with me, and Baby X is in the room next door.”

Grimes revealed in a recent interview with Vanity Fair that she and Musk are expecting a second child in December 2021.
The Vanity Fair writer heard infant screams coming from upstairs during the in-person interview at Grimes’ new house in Austin, Texas.
Baby X was previously revealed to be with Grimes’ father.
After a “scary” pregnancy with their first kid, the musician said that the pair was worried about major consequences. As a result, they discreetly welcomed their second child, a girl, through surrogacy.
She goes by the moniker “Y.”
“Exa Dark Siderael Musk is her full name,” Grimes subsequently informed the writer through text messages.
“Exa is short for exaFLOPS, a word used in supercomputing” (the ability to perform one quintillion floating-point operations per second). Meanwhile, the unknown is dark. People are afraid of it, yet it is just the lack of photons. Our universe’s magnificent enigma is dark matter.”
Siderl is pronounced “sigh-deer-ee-el,” and it is “the real time of the cosmos, star time, deep space time, not our relative earth time,” according to Grimes.
It’s also a tribute to Galadriel, her favourite character from The Lord of the Rings, who “chooses to renounce the ring.”
In 2022, the artist described her relationship with Musk as “pleasant.”
Grimes added, “There’s no genuine name for it.”

What Happened to Elon Musk’s Ex-Wife? Justine Musk’s Biography

After over a decade of dating, Justine Musk, born Justine Wilson, married future millionaire Elon Musk in January 2000.
The couple had their first kid in 2002, the same year Elon’s firm, PayPal, was bought by eBay. Sadly, the baby died of sudden infant death syndrome at the age of ten weeks (SIDS). Before parting in 2008, Justine and Elon had five additional children together.
Elon has married British actress Talulah Riley twice, dated actress Amber Heard, and has two children with musician Grimes since then.
Elon Musk sees Son X A-12 as a “protégé,” according to Grimes, and is “bringing him to everything.”
Despite the fact that Justine and Elon are no longer together, they nevertheless share custody of their two boys. Despite her extremely public ex, whom she met when they were both attending college in Canada, the Canadian-born fantasy novelist enjoys a secluded life with her children now.
So, who did Elon’s first wife happen to be? Here’s all you need to know about Justine Musk’s relationship with Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX.
Elon was a college classmate of hers.
Justine met her future husband Elon at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, when they were both students.
Justine recalled meeting Elon for the first time during her freshman year of college in a 2010 Marie Claire essay: “He was a clean-cut, upper-class boy with a South African accent who appeared in front of me one afternoon as I leapt up the steps to my dorm. He was a fellow student a year ahead of me. He said we’d met at a gathering I’d never attended. (He would later admit that he had seen me across the common area and decided he wanted to meet me.)”
When Elon asked her out, she declined.
Elon went to the University of Pennsylvania after two years and graduated in 1995, but they didn’t have a long-distance relationship. Justine, in fact, originally turned him down when he sought her.
“He asked me to have ice cream with him. I said yes, but then ignored him by leaving a message on my dorm room door “In her post-divorce Marie Claire piece, she wrote: “I heard a polite cough behind me many hours later, when I was crouched over my Spanish book in a hot room at the student centre. Two chocolate-chip ice cream cones were sliding down Elon’s hands as he smiled nervously. He’s not the kind of guy who accepts no for an answer.”
Even after he’d moved, Elon continued to send Justine flowers, and she ultimately consented to have dinner with him during one of his travels back to Canada.
However, by the time they graduated, the two had parted ways. Justine earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature and went on to teach English as a second language in Japan (ESL). She returned to Canada after a year and resumed bartending while writing on her book.
Elon Musk’s Family (He’s a Father of 8): Everything You Need to Know
Justine informed her sister, according to Marie Claire, that if Elon reached out to her again, she would reassess their relationship. One week later, the tech entrepreneur phoned her. Justine relocated to California to be with Elon when the pair reconciled.
She’s a contemporary fantasy novelist.
Justine’s debut novel, BloodAngel, was published by Penguin Books in 2005, and her second, Uninvited, was published in 2007. Lord of Bones, the sequel to BloodAngel, was published in 2008.
She has also written a number of short tales. In 2016, her tale “Smalltown Canadian girl” was featured in the anthology The House that Made Me: Writers Reflect on the Places and People Who Shaped Them.
Her first son died while he was quite young.
In 2002, Justine and Elon had their first child together, Nevada Alexander, two years after they married. He died of sudden infant death syndrome shortly after his birth (SIDS).
In her Marie Claire piece, she said, “Nevada laid down for a sleep, put on his back as usual, and stopped breathing.” “He had been deprived of oxygen for so long that he was brain-dead by the time the paramedics resuscitated him.”
“He was on life support for three days at an Orange County hospital before we decided to take him off. When he died, I cradled him in my arms “she went on.
Elon and her have five sons together.
Xavier and Griffin, the couple’s twins, were born in April 2004.
Justine revealed in her Marie Claire piece that she wanted to deal with the death of her son by attempting to conceive again shortly after. “I suppressed my sorrows by going to an IVF facility for the first time less than two months after Nevada died. Elon and I had hoped to conceive again as soon as possible. I gave birth to twins, then triplets, throughout the following five years “she wrote
In 2006, the couple welcomed three additional sons to their family, after Xavier and Griffin. The triplets — Kai, Saxon, and Damian – were also created through IVF, according to Justine’s TedTalk from 2017.
Before Elon filed for divorce, Justine and Elon sought couples therapy.
Justine recognised it was time for a change in her relationship after what she termed a “wake-up call” vehicle accident. Elon consented to go to therapy, but only for a short time.
“After a month and three sessions, he issued me an ultimatum: “Either we solve this marriage now, or I’ll divorce you tomorrow,” which I took to imply, “Our status quo works for me, so it should work for you.” The following morning, he filed for divorce. I was numb, yet oddly relieved “In her essay, she expressed herself.
Elon and she split custody of their two boys.
The SpaceX inventor detailed how he was coparenting with his ex two years after their divorce in a Business Insider op-ed published in 2010 titled Correcting The Record About My Divorce: “Our five children are equally divided in custody. My sons are the joy of my life, and I spend almost all of my non-work waking hours with them.”
Elon’s future bride and she got along swimmingly.

Elon started dating English actress Talulah Riley in 2008 after Justine and Elon divorced. Something “unexpected” occurred, as Justine revealed in Marie Clarie. “His fiancée and I learned we loved one other throughout the divorce procedures,” she added. “By all accounts, she is a charming, clever, and very young woman who is more suited to my ex-lifestyle husband’s and personality than I was.”
Riley and Elon separated in 2012, then remarried in July of that year. In November 2016, the couple formalised their divorce for the second time. Elon made his relationship with Grimes public in May 2018, and the couple delivered son X A-12 in May 2020, followed by daughter Exa Dark Siderael in December 2021.
Despite being “estranged” from Elon, Justine expressed remorse over their marriage or divorce in a 2010 article, writing, “I’ve worked through some resentment, both at Elon for turning me so disposable, and at myself for believing in a fairy tale when I should have known better.”
