At the James Bond premiere, Kate Middleton paid tribute to Princess Diana.
Royal admirers were taken aback by Kate Middleton’s 007-inspired style.
The Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning in a gold sequin-covered Jenny Packham cape gown for the “No Time to Die” premiere on Tuesday in London.
She’s not the first royal to attend a James Bond event decked out in glitz and glam, as Princess Diana did in 1985 for the premiere of a different Bond film, “A View to a Kill.”
As with Middleton’s current take, the late Princess of Wales’ silver gown by royal favorite designer Bruce Oldfield featured the same silhouette, V-neck and waist-cinching detail as her modern take — but without the sheer, sequined cape.
The duchess wore metallic pumps ($750) by Aquazzura with dangling gold earrings, just like Diana did.
Middleton, 39, has worn Diana’s beloved tiara and sapphire earrings before,
so this isn’t the first time she’s paid homage to her late mother-in-law with her style choices.
Of course, she’s also got her princess-era sapphire engagement ring to contend with.
As a princess, Kate Middleton’s style has evolved over the last decade,
but she hasn’t stopped wearing matching jacket and skirt ensembles, one of Diana’s defining looks.
Meghan Markle used a replica of Princess Diana’s signature handbag on her red carpet appearance in New York City just days before she did the same on the red carpet in Los Angeles.
